A Brand New Year! Hello 2011

A cleaner interface to kick start the new year! Sorry, I miss the train to write a flashback review on year 2010 ~~not like I intend to do so though :p~~. but guess I am still on time to write a new year resolution. It’s the first working day of 2011. Everything seems smooth sailing for me so far but I guess it has been lidat for the last couple of months in 2010 so wee wee I am all cool people and probably a little too comfortable in the comfort zone opsss. Unlike most of the people who need to rush to the office, I work from home, and I am not too sure if I am ready to change that but most probably will this year. Before I got swing away by other stuff let’s start to draw out what are the exciting new year resolutions ahead awaiting for me this year!

To-do list:

Achieve sales target this year 700k! $ is my best friend!
apart from working hard, allah, jessus, Buddha.. please gimme all your blessing tenkiu /please
Loss 10kg before CNY? Swimming or Gym? Hmm…
it’s only 1 month before CNY, can I do it? My record was 14kg in one month.. guess I better start eating grass now.. moo~ /blur
DSLR is on top of the list after I have got iPhone 4 last year!
Photography is the new black! But the problem with me is that my hobby normally won’t last long..
/sweat err.. so let’s hope that you won’t see me posting a dusty DSLR by the end of the year :D
Read 10 books this year!
I wonder if I have truly read 10 over the past 3 years, and yea.. if magazine counts I guess it’s a yes! :p
Get myself a new blacky by second quarter!
I have always wanted a blacky instead of a greyyie since 2 years ago.. thanks to you my dear, I think I am finally getting closer and closer to blacky now and hopefully blacky will be with us by 2nd quarter of the year :)

I promise to sleep early and cut down on my night outing.. err not like I have a lot but I kind a like my mid night yumcha session which turn me into a panda the next day.. so hey, no more tea after 12am during weekdays? /nobigdeal I can do it! Busier working life I suppose
with Lo'real now under my servicing account, and hopefully mroe to come :) together with my emcee job, I can foresee that 2011 is gonna be quite a pack year for me. My booking for JAN and FEB is full and inquiry keep coming in till April. If everything goes well, I might even emcee in Thailand this year. Never thought that my emcee career will cross border.. please keep them coming.. I need all the $$$

Just hope that everything will go according to plan, and no big chaos this year for I am getting ready for another big thing in my life hopefully by early next year which should be sealed by this year end.

I am never a good planner though most people might mistaken me as one but I will make sure I plan well this time!

You could be up in the sky at one moment and down fall to hell at another. I once thought I am a very sensitive person but apparently I am wrong.. Guys, trust me no matter how sensitive you are you will never be sensitive enough for your girl. So there is no exception for me too. Family Trip @ Penang

I guess late is better than never hor? Thought of having this post up few days ago but I was really tied up this few days… here come the post for my family Penang Trip.. Left the house early in the morning around 6.15am if I remember correctly.. all the way up to Ipoh for a delightful FU SAN dim sum.. quite a variety there.. I bet you gonna like it too becoz unlike other Dim Sum.. here there are smtg else other than pork =) Let’s take a look at some of the pic I’ve taken there…

Day 1 in Penang, we reach in the afternoon… the first thing to do is to buy Tao Sah Piah… phew.. my sis insists on it. The funny part, our perceived original TSP seems to be different. Now only I realize there are many TSP ended with the word “hiang” in Penang. My mom and I thought Him Hiang is the over 100 yrs ORI TSP but apparently my eldest sis had different view. Anyway, except for the little confusion in meeting point we just happily bought TSP separately. No pic on

that since we were busy communicating over the phone on where we are.. hehe u noe smtg like I am in front of the shop d.. where are u? but apparently we are at different shop hehe.. communication break-down.. After the TSP buying we went to a famous Nasi Kandar Stall recommended by Mark, my bro-in-law. The name Line Clear conned me into the alley..

but guess what? this is what waiting for us in the inside...

buthen again we talk ourself in to tah pao for lunch... I guess good food is worth waiting for huh? =) I find it quite nice.. more to come...

Nothing is certain in life… at one moment you could be seeing rainbow but thunder storm might be ahead without you even knowing it. But more or less, I do believe people are accountable for what they have done. It might just be a silly joke that you treat it as a teaser but that’s the problem you see.. Never let your tongue move faster than your brain.. sometimes a meaningless phrase could turn into harmful sword.. and the last thing you want is that it will hurt someone you care about…

Man keep releasing green house gasses and we are suffering from various natural disasters.. Tornado, thunderstorm, flood have become our regular visitor… if you ask me I would say these are karma. What comes around goes around… so what can we do now? People let’s go green… reduce or stop using plastic bag.. try to live in a more eco-friendly way…

I always believe that the afterain rainbow will comes… becoz without the storm, people will not appreciate the beautiful thing that they have or what others have done to make their life beautiful.… but I do realize... I really do… it would be much ashamed if people were to find excuse to justify their action… so no.. there is no excuse.. it’s very straight forward..

It’s prolly too late to make a New Year resolution now consider it’s already May 2010.. this yr seems to be crucial for me.. a guy at the age of 25.. or perhaps I shud say 24 going on to 25… nt much of happy go lucky time left.. so more focus shall be place on serious matter.. $$ making is one of em I suppose..

Life is busy as usual, but I like the way it is now. Never know that I could be that patient on the road.. never realize that I could actually appreciate the time that traffic jam could buy me.. never know that a simple line cud actually light up my day… it’s simply amazing...

3^rd quarter in 2010 is gonna be hell busy.. co. going on an expansion now.. so prolly nid to cut down on the emcee job part and oso slow down a bit on my study.. gonna be more picky on future job.. hmm bet that 2 subject wud be gud enuf for me in the following sem.. (so that I cud have more time for u.. <3>

People say there are things that better felt than say.. I cnt agree more with tht coz apparently my language proficiency is pretty much sdn bhd when it come to writing.. bare with me for I have not write in such a loooooong looooong time… could hardly rmbr when was the last Eng post I made here… hehe

Many things happened in this few months and yet I never really have time to captured it and post it up here. Seeing my latest post up here in the blogspot again simply means ppl.. yea I’m back :p (familiar line in many muvee huh?)

Well, talking about muvee.. I bet many have put their eyes on the academy awards that just grant 8 awards to Slumdog Millionaire, a movie that I was reluctant to even download at first... But sometimes, life is just so miraculous, I happen to came back from Kuala Selangor seafood last week with my usual hang out buddies Ellen, Hazel, Brian, and MW and guess what we stop by the cinema with initial intention to watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (well don’t blame me on this cause Brad Pitt would definitely be on top of the list.. at least it was compare to some Hindi movie that I prescribe will be filled with a lot of running around, dancing, and singing scenes).

I trust that most of the patrons in the cinema do feel the same thus TCOBB was full house and that led us to Slumdog Millionaire~ a movie that I first thought will bored me to dead but hey end up I nearly stood up and applause for it. I am definitely not the type of person that write good review about movie (well bet u would have realize how “localized” my language is…) so dear readers (doubted if there are still any after so long never update) my short review for the movie are: it might not freak u out like LOTR trilogy, it might not give u endless love story like Titanic, no action like Jet Li, not hilarious like Tropic Thunder~ but it goes right into the bottom of your heart… wanna know why? Watch it yourself pls…

2 hours of broadcast~ Opened a topic to discuss on giving brings more happiness than taking...
Surprisingly a lot of people responded to the topic in cari forum.
It's really nice experience to have many people giving input on this topic.
We have an in-depth discussion on it and due to my tired condition. I off air sharp at 2am.

31^st OCT 2008 – Happy Halloween Day!!! Didn’t really celebrate Halloween actually so there are not much Halloween element here other than a pair of “horn” that we have. It’s a hell of a day for me after rushing for 2 appointments on Friday. Don’t feel like blogging about works nowadays~ So let’s cut the story short…

Finish my appointment in KL went straight to look for Jessie and Sara… hoho so not use to address her as SARA… but as usual after a round of calls and sms(s).. I end up having dinner with Jessie at Jaya One. Our initial intentions is to wait for Sara to return home from Bangi but dunno why she went on straight to Curve with Max instead of joining Jessie and me in Jaya One.

It’s a quiet little dinning place with some classical Chinese 60s, 70s music. I like the calm atmosphere in here. They serve Malaysian cuisine (well you know… noodles.. fried rice… snacks etc). Forgive me for not exploring more on the menu part as you can read from above, we didn’t plan to stay long actually. Equipped with Wifi service, it’s an ideal place to hang out during weekend. Going online and chit-chat with friends, that’s what I can imagine myself doing there. Compare to Ha-Lo Café that we went last week, I prefer this place. Perhaps I am getting old or what… I feel like spending more “quality time” in places like this… relaxing… calm… hmmm….

It’s been our plan to go for drink on Halloween night! The only question remain is where to? Century VS Scarlet, we end up going to Scarlet. Reach there around ten plus, the place is a bit dull and not so happening~ But it turn lively after 11pm~ where “sheep” started to show up~ There are innocent one and also big one everywhere… kekekeke… Remember there’s this aunty dancing behind us. Gosh~ I know I sound bad but aunty… I really salute you!!! =p Nothing special happen after that… As usual.. we drink drink drink and dance dance dance… the only thing is… Max seems not enjoy that much during that night… perhaps not enough liquor to get him shake his booty off~ wahahahaha or probably he never like to dance… hmm….. I wonder…

Malaysia International Basketball Championship

It has become my routine to blog during working time (weekend job not the weekday one) but it seems that I can’t do that with the unstable wireless connection I experience here in Sri Petaling, a place that I enjoy the least to work at. I’ve been here for two weeks with yesterday an escape to work in Kevin’s show at MABA Stadium. Brought my laptop there but didn’t manage to even take it out because the game is too exciting! It’s the Malaysia International Basketball Championship where six nation teams (not all national team) compete to win the title. I was there to replace Kevin for one day. Basketball has always been my favorite sports even though I didn’t play nowadays. But by watching the game alone gives me tremendous enjoyment.

It is the fourth day of the championship and Malaysia PETRONAS team has won 2 games and lost 1. A surprise wins over the “unbeatable” Singapore Slingers light up Malaysia hope for the title challenge. We defeated Pure-Youth Construction team from Chinese Taipei and lost to India National Team before winning Singapore Slingers with the superb tight score of 93 – 92. It is too bad that I have missed the Malaysian team action on the 3rd day because my teeth is killing me after being “filled” by the dentist on Friday afternoon. I heard the crowd was amazing on the 3rd day evening with many of them cheering for Malaysia PETRONAS.

The fourth day of the championship, the day I worked there. Malaysia PETRONAS defeated Hong Kong China National Team (I heard there are only 3 first squad player are in the team). It wasn’t really a good match because I personally think that Malaysia didn’t play well and they nearly got themselves pay for the price during the last quarter of the game. I am not sure if it is because of our players’ mind-set because Hong Kong China is the only team that has not strike any win so far. Never look down to your enemy. I thought we have learnt the lesson when India strike back and win over Malaysia team during the previous game. But apparently I am wrong.

Overall it’s been a wonderful day working in Stadium MABA. Getting pay and get to watch my favorite sports game at the same time really thrilled me. But as for now, I am still in Endah Parade aiming at the clock. By the way, the wireless here is unstable so I am not sure when will this post be up on my blog but up to present, it’s 7:43pm, Sunday 7th September 2008 while I finish blogging this post. Tomorrow is gonna be another working day! Cheer up~ (that’s for myself)

UTAR CONVO AUG 08

Stepping on to the stage of Wisma MCA to receive my scroll from the GOH marks an end to my journey in UTAR. Flip back to my previous post in MSN LIVE Blog, I could still recall how depress I was when I first got into UTAR. The pictures are as clear as it had just happened yesterday. Then I realize how fast time has passes by. Well, I might be the depress Kent when I entered UTAR but I must say that the Kent who step out from UTAR is proud to declare it loudly that I am a UTAR graduate. As usual, those who are familiar with me, you might have heard this story before but bare with me for writing it into a long-winded essay because I do wish to leave a mark of it when my memory is still fresh and that spirit of UTAR is still flaming hot burning.

3 years ago when I was not admitted into my preferred public university, I have chose to came to UTAR as it is one of the alternative choices to have for a student who do not wish to put too much burden on my family. Well of course there are other reasons but that truly is one big factor that put me in to UTAR which I believe like many others do. I came to UTAR all by myself with most of my secondary school friends entered into different public or private institutions. Struggle to find my way to survive in the university life as I was in the express July intake with the other 700 plus students. I still remember there were once a say that those who got in thru July intake are mostly the STPM “refugees”. Being one of the “refugees”, our impression towards UTAR has further drop when there is no orientation programs like ice-breaking, talent-time or any other kind of activities organized for us. Perhaps STPM “refugees” like us do not deserve the same treatment, which was the thought that played in my mind at that time. Luckily, there is still someone out there who is crazy enough to initiate something for ourselves at that time. Life in UTAR has then changed or I suppose it didn’t change but started in another way that I never thought it will be. Together with a group of event maniac, we’ve gone thru many high and low. Face numerous rejections, challenges, defeat, and success in university event organizing.

Contesting in the student election is another big step to take while studying in UTAR. Being one of the “opposition” in the Student Representative Committee meeting, I have too many unanswered questions. Thus, I have decided to step up to source for answers to my and many other students’ queries. Getting involved in student election is equivalent of engaging yourself into another smaller frame of political world. The people you meet, the people you have to answer to, and the people you have to deal with are all like examiners that give you various test. Do I pass all of that? I don’t think so but I must say I have tried my very best to attempt each and every one of it and I guess I will just let god do the judging part. People often say that one should always expect the best and prepare for the worse. Somehow, I am not well prepared for the worse during my time in UTAR. There were once I thought things will never go worse than that but it does eventually. Without any warning, sometimes hassle can just hit you like a storm. That is what happens to me when my tenure of service in the council is ending. I am grateful and thank god for sending friends that give me all the supports and caring I needed the most at that time.

In life, there are always choices that we have to make. No exception in my case. Making choices means trade-off to me. In another word, it simply means you have to let go something to gain something else. Prioritization is never my strong skill, I always have problem in doing that. I am always the greedy one that hope to get everything and when the time really comes to make a decision, I let my soul speaks for me. Whichever way that my heart prefers most, that’s the way I’ll go. So I guess the follow your heart/instinct is what exactly I am practicing all the while. Like I mentioned earlier, being a greedy person I do tried to search for opportunity cost that I have chosen to left behind some time ago but unfortunately, it doesn’t seems to be the same again. People who know me long enough you might just know what I am referring to but let’s just keep it between us. Studying in UTAR for 3 years also taught me an important lesson. I always wanted to live back in time in the past, but without realizing actually how much fun and excitement that lies ahead are waiting for me. So this is what I have learnt, we should always look forward not backward. Let’s hope and welcome the better tomorrow. Shall we? ;)

Yeap, blogging during working time (DJ) seems to be another habits of mine nowadays. Well, I just hope that my boss don't read my blog otherwise he will be not so happy with it.

Another week full of excitement both on my job and also the current hot topics in town. It's none other than our country current political situation. Former DPM contesting in the by-election to step in to the parliament, being accused for sodomizing and quite likely to be prosecuted in court. It's like a drama now that we Malaysian are watching. Interesting huh?

Not gonna go further to the political issues, guess I am just gonna drop that although I do have some opinion on issues like MCA party election, the DPM case like I mentioned earlier but there are something bigger here I want to tell!! YES PEOPLE!! IT's MY CONVOCATION ON THE 23 AUGUST 2008!(I know I wrote it in the previous post but just in-case you have forgotten I am gonna start mentioning it in every post this month! akekekekekekekekeekekeke) Call yourself my buddy, please make it to my convo at 8.30am (prefer to come earlier to take pic ^^) at Dewan San Choon, Wisma　MCA, JLN AMPANG. Really hope to see you all especially all my colleague that sweat with me last time when we were in UNI, those who are close pals when we were in SABs, Malurianz that walk together with me even before I know how to run (sound awkward huh? ok dun care la.. you all know what I meant)!

I am DJ for TOMEI in One Utama now. Gonna be here for two consecutive weekends. Quite long hours but considering my current financial status, the offer seems to be too good to turn down. Taken some pictures here but it seems to be more or less the same like the previous Bukit Raja fair pic as you can see hehe. There is a better mixer and veli de Geng Cao player here. It's the Pioneer CMX-3000. Not gonna elaborate more on that, just see through the picute yourself la! I am fully booked this month for DJ jobs but guess I will have to turn down some of them because I really hope I could attend my buddies convo in the last 2 weeks of August.

There is a says if you fail to plan you plan to fail! That is a common phrase in Management paper that we took last time. Judging at my current situation, holding a degree in Accounting, working as a Key Acc Executive who perform marketing function and free-lance mobile DJ on weekend. It seems like none of these is in my plan. Well, to be honest even the Accounting degree is not in my plan earlier on. Believe it or not my philosophy in life seems to be more like if you fail to plan, you must fully utilize what you have now and try to turn the negative to positive. Well, it doesn't mean that I don't plan at all, I do but sometime or perhaps I should say most of the time life just don't turn out like what you've plan. So I remember there is a friend of mine who tell me this, it's either you gonna live with it, fight it or you life got screwed by going circle round and round over it. I guess I have pick the mixture of living with it and fight it. How about you?

I realize I tend to blog hair wired nowadays. I don't really blog on a specific topic if you realize it seems like I am blogging as in I am talking to someone.. hmmm guess that is a more comfortable way to blog for me. That simply means don't ask me about my post title. After all, who says that a post or even a blog need to have its name? Guess that's about it this round. Might be blogging again really really soon. Pavilion-SBUX-BATMAN II

Alright, let’s continue with what I’ve left over. My little peaceful moment at SBUX only last about half an hour before my friends reach Pavilion and hey guess what, we still have time to go for our sushi dinner at Ichiban-Bonshi. Friends who hang out with me know that is one of my favorite places to dine in whenever I am in Pavilion. A rather rushing dinner we had there. Taken a chicken teriyaki set while my friends still have time to enjoy their sizzling hot beef plate. Nothing much to blog about the meal cause the food is nice as always, and we are eating in lighting speed so that we won’t miss the beginning excitement of the movie.

We got in to the cinema 5 minutes before the show start, so still have time for us to drop whatever things that we wish not to hold on for two and a half hours inside the cinema. Well, just in-case you didn’t read my last brief post, I am watching Batman, The Dark Knight. Sitting at 2^nd row from the screen (that’s the most “frontier” seats I ever bought using Online Banking system with GSC, so imagine, how people are hunger for BATMAN) didn’t really affect our mood or I should say comfort in watching the show. Don’t really feel like writing the whole review of the story here because I bet you need to watch this movie for yourself (save my time to recall back the sequence, plot, synopsis and etc. hehehe)! If 100 marks is the max I’ll give this movie 85!

If I have to pick my favorite character in this show, I think most of the audience will pick the same character as I do, yeah none other than the guy who ask this question: “why so serious?”! Mr Joker, at one point I didn’t really have high expectation to this bad guy, as you all know we have seen a bad joker before but this psychic joker will really blow you away. This is unlike any other comic movie that you watch, Batman The Dark Knight is not simply on the hero/heroin action but deep inside there are values and morality messages which the movie try to send to its’ audience and the most important part is it is not boring! So people, if you are still wondering what to do this weekend please make watching this movie one of your choices because it really worth it!

It's another day! The clock is showing at 7:20 approximately and here I am blogging from a public place again. It seems like going to cafe to work, online and blog has become one of my recent like.

Unlike yesterday, today is nothing official. I am not seeing the client but waiting for my friends to have dinner ( I suppose now we'll only be on time to have supper later) and watch BATMAN, The Dark Knights in Pavilion KL. Wonder why will a guy that rush from Subang Jaya to KL town reach earlier than those who stay probably less than 15km away from here. Loitering around the mall tempted me to go Starbucks.

My first own client appointment

Blogging this from Wisma Selangor Dredging, KL. Attending my first own client appointment here for more towards a service recovery action. The meeting with client is good. Together with Emma, I suppose we create couple of potential in-house training business opportunities with the client.

Finish meeting the client, Emma and I thought of continue working in a place that offer us internet connection and Yeah~ we spotted Coffee Bean here. I guess boss won't be angry at us taking a little moment for breakfast before resume back to work (eventually blog as well =p).
Gotta play basketball with Fish and his ex-colleague later. Just hope that I can still run hehehe

Life is getting busier and busier nowadays! People, I have 4 shows in this coming weekend and also in the first week of august. I am looking for DJ (preferably those with experienced) for road show in One-U and Mid Valley, the pay is roughly 180 - 200 bucks depends on experience. If anyone know Mall/Roadshow DJ that can broadcast in English, please give me a call and send me an email at skchan85@gmail.com

Working Life

I am blogging this post on a beautiful Saturday at Aeon Bukit Raja Klang. People you might be wondering what this Kent is doing here in Bkt. Raja. Yeah, I am working here man as free-lance DJ once again. It’s gonna be the second week of working 7 days a week non-stop since I join Comfori last TUE which is the 1st of July.

It’s been a happy journey so far since I step in to the working field either as the DJ or the Key Account Executive. I must say I am still in the learning process of becoming one of the top people in both fields that I am venturing into. I’ve got a text message from Max yesterday, glad to find out that he is happy with Marcus Evan even though we are now rivals. Well, guess it won’t be much of competition between us as I am riding on a “sampan” while he is on the star cruise now as according to Thomas. In short, our target business line is different yet I still believe I have make a right decision to come in to Comfori though that it was not supported by most of my family members.

I personally believe there are values and process that I can learn in Comfori especially when I am able to get myself to involve in the whole cycle of generating revenue for the company. It will be something “priceless” to me. There are people who ask me why not join AMEX or any other MNC, well I guess I have answered their question.

Life is busy nowadays and yet it’s lively to me. Working 7 days a week might be hectic for some people but for me it depends on your perception. To me, being DJ in weekend is just like another form of entertainment. So having fun and earning income at the same time is what I think about working during weekend now and I am enjoying it. But of course it will be provided that you are still single and available like me then only you can do so. Otherwise I bet the girl friend is gonna run away very soon. Hehe.

Last but not least, people my convocation is on the 23rd August 2008! To my buddies, I personally hope that you all can join me on that day. The session is gonna start at 8.30am if I am not mistaken. To THOMAS, PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT ANY FORM OF BANNER OR BUNTING IS PROHIBITED!!!

Got to get back to broadcast now. Till then, I shall meet everyone during my CONVO or perhaps if you want to meet up with me just give me a ring!

Entering into another Phase of mylife

Well, I guess another chapter of my life has just started yesterday. Yeah, I have started to work. Work as in permanant job not the free-lance DJ thingy, not the part-time temporary job but a full time job. I have struggle for quite some time before make up my mind to come to this company to begin with another phase of my life. Reasons being the location wise, the company struture wise, the field that I am venturing into, and also last but not least the return and cost of the job.

Today is the second day I work in this company. People here are nice and friendly, my boss seems to be quite a fun person to work with so far. So to all my friends who are concern of me, I am doing fine here and I wish you all every success in your life too. Not gonna share much about the job here cause I haven't really start working this two days. Well, you know it's because of the orientation thingy. Got my laptop today, and it's a new one! ^^ So I bet that tomorrow I will start to work on field. Wish me luck people.

Tired here, have to wake up quite early to get to work. Not so use to it but I think I'll be ok with it soon. After all, healthy lifestyle seems to be what I needed too!

The sky was blue, the sun was bright, a windy day with many smiling faces that came to JPN Putrajaya. We were all there for one reason and yes it’s a joyful one. The Registration of Marriage between Mark and Brenda, my brother in law and my beloved eldest sister.

With the magnificent view of Putrajaya, suddenly the scene of the ROM turn into somehow a little fairytales. I affirmatively hold that stand after the remarkable jobs done by Robin, our photographer of the day. Musical Nite 08'

It seems like I had abandon my blog page for more than 2 months. My apology for not being able to post within this few months and as I had promise previously, I am gonna write a full page of Musical Nite 08’ the last event that I emcee in UTAR previously (No longer valid after I did another Emcee as an Alumni for MMLM Talk by Ms Lily Soh in UTAR CEE recently).

Let’s get back to Musical Nite 08’, first of all a million thank goes to the organizing team for inviting me to become their emcee for the event and bringing another fun and pretty partner to me which is Ms Evelyn (I hope I got your English name spelling right :p) .

It’s been fun working with all of you and I must say that Evelyn extraordinary “sporting” attitude surprise me. :p Well, most probably it is because of the first impression I had towards Ms Evelyn during Wushu Nite is that she is a more formal type emcee that speak fluent English with proper grammar and nouns which I don’t as you can see thru this post.

There are quite a number of new friends I met during the night particularly juniors… to name a few, there are Chloe who speak mandarin like a newsreader; Henry who is my nearby housing estate neighbor; Min Shun who sing Jay Chou song that seems to become our “national anthem” for a few months; Jian Lang who is my classmate plus the bass guitarist… Forgive me if I didn’t mention your name here cause there are too many interesting people I have met in the night.

I am busying shopping for furniture at the moment cause in less than 1 month time I will be shifting in to a new home in Bukit Manda’rina (next to TMN Cannaught). I suppose that a BBQ session will be held by the month of August. Hope to see you all by then!

By the way, before I say good bye… It’s my eldest sister Brenda and my Brother-in-law Mark Registration of Marriage day yesterday! Wish them happily ever after and gonna post some pictures of that day soon! (Don’t worry, I will resume my post quite frequent now… no more 2 months waiting before the next post!)

Combo Post: Convo, E-Radio, Class Gathering...

It’s has been approximately two busy weeks before I last posted anything here. Couple of things happened in this two weeks. I happen to attend both Convocation session on 29 and 30 April 2008, started my own e-radio, went for a class gathering at Milwaukee Steak House (hope I got the spelling right =p), and hosted Musical Nite 08’ for the second time.

Convocation

As usual, the convocation was held in Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA for the university’s “sentimental” purpose. There are more than 1500 graduates attended the convocation to receive their scroll from YB Datuk Ong Tee Kiet and YB Datuk Ng Yen Yen. Compare to the previous convocation that I have attended; this year convocation seems not so well organized with a few protocol and technical problems here and there. I have seen Sara, Eddie, Nicholas, Janet, Sean, and many other familiar faces receive their scroll during both of the session. Congratulation to them and I wish them all the best in their future. It will not be long before I will be wearing that rob and line up to wait for my turn to take the scroll. Hopefully it will happen by the month of August.

E-Radio

My latest “hobby” is to go ON AIR every Friday night 11pm – midnight (sometimes 4am). I have just acquired the “technology” to start my own e-radio about two weeks ago. The first time I go ON AIR, is the exact same day where I’ve just learn how to broadcast it real-time through the internet. It’s fun to broadcast and become an internet Radio DJ. This is because unlike the commercial DJ/freelance DJ that I have been working as, you get to decide the content of your own program. But for those who are interested in starting one e-radio on your own, my advise is the risk is on your own because I am totally addicted to it now! =p

Class Gathering

It all happens on last TUE where all our classmates in BAC Y3 S3 Tutorial Group 11 attended. I meant ALL of them!!! It was held at Milwaukee Steak House in Balakong, Cheras. The organizer is our “beloved” class representative Hoong Chin. A big TQ to him for his effort in bringing all of us together for perhaps one last time other than the final exam that we are going to sit for. I doubted if we could have “full attendance” for any other leisure purpose together. Well you know, it’s not easy to get 27 adults together nowadays

Guess I wouldn’t write anything about Musical Nite™ here because I will need one whole post to blog about it. A lot of interesting stuff happened during and before that night. It’s my last event in UTAR! Those who doubted it please don’t because it’s week 13 now and for sure this will be the one last time I emcee in UTAR! Okay, that post will pop up soon with some pictures I took on that night. Till then tata..

FAM Social Nite 08’

FAM Social Nite 08’ is the last ball night for me, my classmates, and many other final year students in FAM. Held in Palace of Golden Horse Hotel, FAM “Social” Nite is a result of merger form by the initial FAM Nite and Social Nite 08’. Before we go through the program, allow me to comment on the initial purpose of both events. Based on my limited understanding, the initial purpose of FAM Nite is to create opportunity for students to interact with the alumni and also among themselves. In short, it’s a scale down UTAR Ball Nite that only opens to FAM students and alumni. On the other hand, Social Nite aims at inviting corporate personnel to participate in the event thus allow students to meet up and interact with them. However, I have seen none of the corporate personnel present at the scene. Therefore it leaves me with a big question mark on whether FAM “Social” Nite is a combination of both event or the merger of both events has turn into an acquisition indeed. Nevertheless, I would still like to congratulate the organizing team for the success of the event. I understand that there are complains about foods, emcee, and program transition on that night but trust me by having experience in attending both UTAR Ball 2006 and UTAR Ball 2005 simply means you will appreciate FAM Social Nite more. This is because comparing FAM Social Nite with the previous UTAR Ball, you will find that FAM Social Nite deserves a thumb up for their arrangement in term of the overall programs that really suits the taste of our students. Programs such as the live band, a Capella singing, Bani’s video, and the oldies plus ball room dancing dance floor add credits to the organizing team. Some might argue that the program is not rich, but honestly speaking, I believe most of the participants don’t really wish to see a circus performing on stage. What we, the participants really want is just a decent moment of getting together, take some pictures, chit-chat a bit while having some entertainment show and I bet the program organized in FAM Social Nite is just nice for most of us. You wouldn’t believe me if I tell you that the first UTAR Ball actually has Motorola DJs playing songs like “Smack That” all over the night. Try to paint the pictures that people actually dance as in clubbing with their decent gown and tux. UTAR Ball 07’ dance floor is not much differ than the previous one but the F&B is certainly better compare to both UTAR Ball 06’ and FAM Social Nite 08’. But people having petrol price rising to RM 1.92 and the current inflation rate, my fellow faculty mates in FAM, you really can’t expect much from the food serve in a 5 Stars hotel in Klang Valley with the price of RM880 per table unless you daddy is the owner of the hotel. Nevertheless, there are rooms for improvement if FAM is to organize another gala dinner in the future which is why I only give them one thumb up instead of two.

No MuSiC No LiFe

It’s finally done. Yeah, I am talking about my thesis of course. All I have to do now is to wait for my final exam to come and farewell to UTAR, the institution that I’ve chosen to pursue tertiary study 3 years ago. It’s very complicated to tell how I feel now. I’ve been through high and low in UTAR, been given opportunity to experience something that perhaps too good to be true for me but at the same time pay the price without me realizing it myself. I guess it would be too early to thank all the people who have been or who had passing by my side all this while. There are bloods and sweats that we have spilt together here and I shall remember that for the rest of my life. Hmm… why am I getting so emotional here… hmm… it must be the song! Okay, I have to stop being “vulnerable”.

As you can see at the side bar of this blog, it’s the Musical Nite™ that I wanted to promote here. For one last time in UTAR I will be emceeing again. I still remember I was once asked to emcee for the first event I did in UTAR. Yes, it’s the very raw Moonlight Fiesta™ that we organize back in year one time. By the end of the day, I did manage to excuse myself from emceeing for that event. Thus, that makes my first time emceeing goes to UTAR Star Search™ (USS™), FAM very own singing talent competition organized by Music Club. My route of emcee in UTAR then continues with Fashion Nite™, Song Composing Contest™, Ice Breaking & Tele-match MAY 2006, Musical Nite™ 2007, Colors of our nation: Gegar-U 2007, MOHEX 2007, Registration, Mass Call and Campus Tour JAN 2008, and the recent UTAR Apprentice: UTAR my choice; Durex your choice challenge. As I’ve start off with Music Club at the beginning so here I am to end my emceeing “career” in UTAR with Music Club. The only difference is that we no longer have USS nowadays as it’s now known as Musical Nite™. So people, you might be sick of looking at me emceeing again but for the one last time please come and support the night =p !

Just as I’m writing this post, it reminds me of how fast time flies. There are many partners that I have work with throughout the whole emceeing journey that I have had in UTAR. A big TQ to them and I must say that it’s indeed my great pleasure to be given the opportunity to work alongside with you all. Suddenly feel that I am being long-winded again. It’s all gonna end soon!! Tomorrow!! Tomorrow!! I will say good bye to all those bleeding stuff!!! Come on Kent you can do it!!! Try to motivate myself here… Eventually realize I did something really stupid this morning… I got my pc formatted and happily bought a microphone from Jusco ytdy… So I am keen to try out my new microphone.. and guess wut.. I start sending recording clip.. u noe those in MSN one to one of my buddies… as I was happily singing all the bangun pagi song… then she replied… Eh… u siao ar… my whole office is listening to that clip ler… >.<” gosh… what’ve I done…>.<" and she seems enjoy humiliating me by keep on replaying the clip (according to her la.. but I bet she won't do that? will she?? -.-")

Okie.. I guess I have to stop.. otherwise I will never get to finish all my bleeding stuff… I need to get it done by 3.30pm! Polling Day: For the Fist Time in myLife

It’s 8th of March year 2008, the big day for all Malaysian. It’s our polling day for the 12th General Election 2008. For the first time in my life, I casted my vote approximately 9:18am this morning. The weather is good in PANDAN area, cloudy and the temperature is just nice for you to walk out there without much worry of sun burn.

Being the first time voter, I have done my homework before going to the polling station. For instant, I have checked my electoral details such as polling station, stream and etc. Compare to the 11th General Election (I was still underage for voting at that time but I followed my parents to the polling station), the 12th General Election is more well-organized. I think it might be because of the system is more stable compare to last time, the voting process become smoother as the waiting time this round seems to be shorten up.

I arrive at the polling station Sekolah Kebangsaan Pandan Indah around 9am. Get myself a nice parking bay and walk in to the school. As usual there are a few friendly policemen on duty at the entrance. Pass by a long corridor and reach the counter to check my polling stream. The SPR officer verified my ID and wrote a four digit number on the small paper that indicates my polling stream (classroom) which is No 6. There are 8 polling streams in SK Pandan Indah. The traffic was not that congested compare to last round as another polling station now no longer is SMK Pandan Indah that is right next to SK Pandan Indah.

I guess the SPR is smarter this round to place the other polling station away from this area to a religion school near the Pandan Indah Mosque. So for people that previously vote in SK Pandan Indah, please check your electoral status as you might be voting at the religion school this round instead of the ordinary SK Pandan Indah that you used to be. That is what happens to the gentlemen in front of me. He thought he will be voting at SK Pandan Indah like he did previously. I can still remember their conversation “Encik, I punya nama undi kat classroom mane?” said the gentlemen. SPR officer: “Encik, tempat mengundi Encik bukan di sinilah. Encik perlu pergi ke Sek Agama….” (The gentlemen respond: -___-“). It reminds me of the radio station community ad but I dare not to laugh at that moment because he was right in front of me.

Once I got my polling stream number I straight away head towards it. Que for around 5 minutes and I got to vote. I was given 2 pieces of voting slip (one for parliament and another for state assembly) with a serial number on it. My personal details such as full name and IC number was read out and being verified before I get to cast the votes. Who have I voted for? Well, I guess most of my close friends will know. Put a cross on the vote and I casted my vote into the transparent polling box.

Tonight is going to be another exiting polling box open night!
So Malaysian, have you all voted? I have done my part as a citizen.

Must Watch Muvee

One of my friends is telling me that I’ve been writing too much about election lately. Well, here I am writing on something else. I’ve been trying to post some movie review but still the review that I am suppose to write stay comfortably in the draft box for more than 2 weeks. Lately I went for Vantage Point in Pavilion KL, so I guess I’ll just jumble up all three movies in one post.

The first movie or perhaps I should say the first two movies that I’ve watched way back in two weeks ago are American Gangster and The Great Debaters. Both starred by Denzel Washington, the academy award winner. I find both movies are quite inspirational. Both of the movies are based on real life story. The third movie that I watched is a purely friction but yet it is so “real”. Thus Vantage Point is another Kent recommended must watch movie!

American Gangster illustrated the story of Lucas Frank, the American Drug Tycoon in late 60s’ and early 70s’. Of course, the inspirational part is not about the “legendary” successful story of a Negro drug distributor but the story of how Frank Lucas, a Negro that helps to revives the America Drug enforcer integrity. Find out how a Negro drug dealer eventually creates his own “product” brand name and rise among the Italian mafias. American Gangster, do not miss it. I personally recommend for DVD full version as I believe a lot of scenes will be censored in Malaysia cinema.

Directed and starred by Denzel Washington, The Great Debaters story features Wiley College way back in the 30s’ when American education system still differentiate between colleges for white and colleges for Negro. Emphasizing on “The Power of Words”, The Great Debaters tells a story of the first ever Negro debater’s team that beat Howard University, the national champion at that time. The story brings a very important message of violence is not the way to solve problems.

Vantage Point story is about an attempt to assassins the President of United States of America. There are several key witnesses present at the scene. The assassin took place at Spain, one of America alliances in the movie where the President try to persuade the world leaders to support his effort in combating in the war against terrorism. You might find it a bit annoying during the rewind time part but trust me, just as you thought that you have lost patient and about to judge that it’s another bad movie, you’ll be surprise with how the story goes. Don’t believe it? Seing is believing, watch it yourself!

On What Basis? Party or Candidate?

I think most of the readers of this blog will find that I seldom post positive stuff about the government nor do their candidates in this coming general election. Many thought that I am a strong supporter of the opposition but to be honest, I try to be as neutral as possible despite the fact that I have to admit my current stand do fell more towards the opposition.

As an eligible voter for the 12th General Election (do correct me if I got it wrong cause I am not so sure whether it's 12th or 11th), I do concern about the Parliamentary Seat candidate in my resident area. With approximately 49% formed by the Malays 45% by the Chinese while Indians and others make up the remaining portion, Pandan is an area that MCA meet with PAS in the past. This round, the battle in P100 PANDAN is between Datuk Ong Tee Keat from BN and Syed Shahrir bin Syed Mohamud from PKR. Not forgetting the candidate for State Assembly which is also a 1 vs 1 scenario between Nosimah Hashim from BN (Replacing Datuk Mad Aris Mad Yusuf, the former YB) and Iskandar Abdul Samad from PAS.

Both ruling party and opposition banners, posters, buntings, and other promotional material can now be easily spotted in PANDAN area. It has come to my surprise to find out that the opposition actually send Syed Shahrir bin Syed Mohamud against Datuk Ong Tee Keat. It take me a while before knowing who Syed Shahrir bin Syed Mohamud is as I barely found PKR promotional material here (not to mention his photo). I am in great wonder of how on earth will a candidate that do not promote himself, or approach the electors win against Datuk Ong Tee Keat, one of the famous politician among the Chinese community.

I manage to dig out a person by the name of Syed Shahrir bin Syed Mohamud through a blogsite. I wonder if the person I found is the candidate that I am looking for. Forgive me if he is not as I couldn't locate any person by the name of Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud on the internet (not even in PKR official website). So for the time being, let's just assume that he is. A brief introduction of him through a press statement that he posted himself in his blog states that he is a former MTUC president who pledge to be the labor voice in parliament (instead of the people of PANDAN). The statement entitled Shahrir wants to continue legacy further illustrate that although the 56 years old Business Administration degree holder would be contesting under a PKR ticket, his priority was to fight for all categories of workers, including those serving as executives or holding middle management posts. As per written in the statement, Syed Shahir, who defeated the former MTUC president Zainal Rampak for the post, is not a novice to politics. He contested and lost a state seat in Pahang at the age of 22 under the former Parti Sosial Rakyat Malaysia (the cow head with red colored background if you could recall that the party contested during 1999 election by forming Barisan Alternatif with PAS, DAP and Parti keADILan) ticket. A member of Parti Rakyat Malaysia until the merger with Parti PKR in 2003, Syed Shahir again contested and lost the Kelana Jaya parliamentary seat in 2004, under the Keadilan ticket. Syed Shahir believes his party affiliation was not something unusual among union leaders or members.

My mom asks me who I will be voting for. "I will have no doubt if DAP is running for Pandan." that's the answer I gave her. She somehow agree to that by nodding her head. I must say that there is a huge gap between Datuk Ong and Mr Shahrir at the moment judging in term of the preparation work done by both site. I think most of the Chinese voters here will be in favor of voting for Datuk Ong considering his "straight forward" characteristic. In fact, in his own manifesto, a shortlist of what issues been raised by himself is included as part of the strategy to fish votes. Among the most famous incident will be the conflict between him and Datuk Seri Hishamuddin regarding funding of Chinese Primary School that was claimed to be "swallow" by certain people (namely the officers in MOE). It is indeed a very difficult decision to make when it comes to whether I should pick the right person of the right site (party). I am not a big fan of BN but I can't deny that Datuk Ong is one of the least political leader that I admire. If you're in Pandan, who will you be voting for? Would you make your choice base on party or candidate?

HONG KONG -- Popular entertainer Lydia Shum died Tuesday morning after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.

Known for her chubby appearance and joviality, she earned the nickname "Fei-fei" (Fatty) and "Happy Fruit" early in a career that spanned nearly half a century.

Born in Shanghai in 1945, Shum moved to Hong Kong with her family soon after, and made her debut in 1960 as a film child star for the Shaw Brothers studio. She later ventured into singing, television drama and hosting.

One of the most celebrated and beloved comediennes and actresses in the Chinese-speaking world, she appeared in 70 films in Cantonese and Mandarin, and gained wide popularity with her comedic and hosting skills for the Hong Kong television variety show "Enjoy Yourself Tonight."

In 2002, she starred in the English-language sitcom "Living with Lydia" in Singapore, which was broadcast there and also in the U.S., on AZN Television.

Shum married Hong Kong television actor-singer Adam Cheng after a decade-long courtship in 1985. In 1987, she gave birth to a daughter, Joyce Cheng. Her marriage dissolved the following year.

A testament to Shum's iconic status in the territory, Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang expressed his sadness at Shum's passing in a morning briefing. He noted that her laughter accompanied many Hong Kong people as they grew up and called Shum's fortitude in the face of illness "a demonstration of the Hong Kong spirit."

Shum has long suffered from diabetes and hypertension and was diagnosed with liver tumor in September 2006.

I remember when I was young,
I always love her comedy "Gold Housing Wealth" with Dong Puma.
But now both she and Dong Puma have passed away.
Let's pay our last tribute to the forever happy star Lydia Shum.

Alert for BDR Sg. Long residents

This is based on TRUE STORY, happened on 18th February 2007 8.30pm, Sg.Long UTAR campus. My name is Wong HaYung, Billy from BAC T4, Y1S2.
The location of the incident is at the park/field between Jln SL 2/2 and 2/3 (behind Bandar Sg Long Shell petrol station), which has no street light. I was being robbed by 3 indian/bangkala guys. It happens at 8.30PM, when I was walking home from my dinner alone. I could only manage to remember 1 person, which is tall and skinny. I can’t recognize the others because at that moment I knew I had to RUN as fast as I could. I’m very lucky that I escaped from them. Thanks God for blessing me.

First there is an Indian guy came to me pretended asking some questions but I realize there’s something wrong. I quickly threw my stuff (a basket of chicken eggs for my breakfast) to him, and suddenly two guys try to pull me from my back to a small valley. They pulled my shirt then I shouted and scream to frighten them for a short while. As that happened, I quickly give up my shirt so that I can escape easier from them. I also left out my slipper and run to a brighter place. Finally, I manage to escaped and I thought they had give up on robbing me. But I could still remember their conservation, there are only two sentences as I run away from them few steps behind.

Robber 1: “ Oui Ya, budak ni sangat cepat ma….. Bagi saya PISAU!!!!” I am very lucky that they didn’t threaten me with the knife earlier. Just as I thought I had successfully escaped from them, I realized that they're searching for me with their knifes, that happened around our University compound. It was so scary! Luckily, I have ran to another street and hide myself. Then I did not the original routine way that I use to go home after dinner.

The robbers might thought that I would have use the same way to go home after dinner thus they waited there to rob me over again. Can you imagine, even when I'm escaped, they still don't give up!!!

At last, I'm only left with my pants, hand phone, wallet and my house key. Some of you might be thinking that it's no big deal as I still have my belongings with me and I am not suffer from any serious injury, thus I need not to be so frightened. Yes, my only material lost is a shirt and a pair of slipper only and I only suffer minor injury with my hands and legs. I often heard people claims that when someone rob you, just give what you have. But through this experience, via the robbers conversation to be specific, I finally realize that ROBBER ROB MONEY and also LIFE. Robber is knowledgeable, when they are robing people, if the situation is not right for them, they have no doubt to make the CRUELEST decision against you.

The previous Mahkota Cheras’s case happens far away from here, which I thought it might because of that place is isolated and does not have many residents. I thought that Sg Long has more residents and robber will not has guts to rob in housing area. Damn it, I just experienced it. It's so silly of me to have such a thought previously. There are many UTARIAN staying here, some stay at Condo and some at housing estate. But regardless where you stay or how many people are around you, it didn't means that you are safe from robbery.

Lecturer always says, business world keep changing, there are always emergence of new technology. The same theory applies for robbers and thieves, their skills and behaviors are always evolving. They become braver, smarter and more well-planned. This afternoon, I received a call from an Indian/Malay says that he want to rent a room, but I rejected. I've posted the renting Ad around Sg.Long and 7-eleven area. My contact information and address are listed. But the guy that called me sound so similar from the one who rob me.

There's a Chinese proverb says, “When there's once, there's always a second one”. I guess those bastards are surly angry that they didn’t get anything from me and must be more aggressive looking for next their victim. I know it's very stupid of me to walk alone during night time, cause since May 2007, I almost use the same path every night and thought that such unlucky incident will not pick me up. Sometimes, I even walked home alone during 12~1am midnight when I finish my part time job at oldtown kopitiam. This has further pull down my awareness as I thought that Sg.Long is actually a very peaceful place and robbers also need to sleep =S People always stay in their own comfort zone and will not be alert when nothing happens to them. I hope that every UTAR staffs and students, will always be alert whenever and wherever you are.

One last thing that I need to EMPHASIZE here is the shirt they took away from me is a UTAR T-SHIRT!!!! So please please be alert when you see suspicious stranger wearing UTAR T-shirt! Do not loosen your alert because they are UTAR student. Anyone who received 017-2716811 call, please be alert too. This is the Indian/Bangladesh guy's number who ask me about the rental.

Few Advises to you:-
1) Let go anything they want from you, even your underwear. (is better than bleeding~)
2) Never fight with them, unless you are helping your friends to get away from them
3) RUN as fast as you can! (I did this and it works >.<''')
4) When you are escaped look for help as soon as possible, before the robber got you again.
5) Staying in group doesn't mean you are safe, always be alert of your surrounding environment is the BEST solution to keep you free from robbery.
6) Don't ever give up your life, struggle as you can, who knows miracle will happen.

Appreciate your life, don let it fall to other bastards.

Valentine Day

Happy Valentine Day + Happy "Tin Gong" Prayer Session...
A belated one though from me! ^^
I nearly forgot that 14th February is Valentine Day.
Yeah~ after being single for 22 yrs plus...
14/02/08 certainly doesn’t mean much to a person like me huh?
Time flies, every time when there’s some special days or annual occasion,
it reminds me of how fast we are growing up/getting old... -.-"
Okay, let’s come back to my valentine day again.
Nothing much to post about actually, but after seeing Joo’s instant noodles posting,
I suddenly felt like posting one for my own too.
Well, perhaps I should be happier with the valentine I had.
Why is that so? Erm… I would say that at least my valentine dinner is better than Joo’s one hehehe… No offence for that JoO… ^^
Let me recall what happen on that day, it was a sunny morning on the 14/02/08 I bet…
Got couple of texting from my friends “reminding” me once again it’s the Valentine Day!
Yeah, it was from no other than a bunch of bachelor texting to mourn for another single Valentine Day.
It didn’t bother me though as I knew I have a busy day ahead~
I got an appointment with my supervisor on that Day.
Finished class around 12.30pm and waited for almost 5 hours in Uni before the 5pm appointment with Ms Angelina.
As usual, nothing special occurs we were discussing the thesis progress and yeah a little comments on the recent CGX sex pic scandal…
Finished the meeting around 6.30pm, and headed for dinner with two of my classmates.
We wanted to go to Tony Roma’s but were told that we have to wait for an hour to get a table.
Eventually ended up in Sakae Sushi… The experience there is horrible.
We got in to the restaurant without much waiting, but we waited like a statue in the restaurant for almost an hour before our foods are served. After that meal we went for movie in GSC which is just right next to the restaurant. Wanted to watch Jumper but only front seats are available.
So, we pick another movie and guess what you never gonna believe this.
We ended up watching Meet the Spartans. It’s damn hilarious movie… I don’t have much to write about the movie, just get a DVD and watch it. There’s no reason for you to spend 12 bucks and watch that in a Cinema… that’s it~!

That’s my Valentine Day.

Malaysian Parliament Dissolved for Election

Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi dissolved parliament in preparation for a general election, 15 months before his five-year term expires.

The country's election commission will set a date for the voting, Abdullah told reporters in Putrajaya, outside Kuala Lumpur. An election must be held within 60 days.

The election is a gamble for Abdullah, who led the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition to its biggest parliamentary victory in 2004. The country's Indian minority has taken to the streets to protest discrimination, and critics have said Abdullah failed keep a pledge to crack down on corruption.

``Unless he can regain the political initiative fast and win big in the forthcoming elections,'' said Andrew Aeria, a political analyst for the London School of Economics and IdeaGlobal, ``he will face a serious challenge to his leadership of UMNO very soon.''

While the ruling coalition is certain to win the election, a stronger opposition performance could threaten Abdullah's leadership of the United Malays National Organisation, or UMNO.

``Pledges were made and people want to see if they are being implemented,'' said Ramon Navaratnam, president of anti- corruption group Transparency International Malaysia, of Abdullah's promises to clean up the government.

Abdullah, whose coalition won 90 percent of parliament's seats in 2004, plans to win a two-thirds majority this time round, he said today. The opposition says that dominance hampers Malaysia's democratic development.

`Too Big'

``In the last four years, all the promises have been broken,'' Lim Kit Siang, parliamentary opposition leader and lawmaker for Malaysia's Democratic Action Party, said today. ``The only way for Malaysia to have a first-world parliament is to break the two-thirds majority.''

Analysts said he also wants to hold the election before his government decreases gasoline subsidies and pump prices rise.

The government, which spent about 35 billion ringgit ($11 billion) last year on fuel and gas subsidies, is ``under pressure'' from rising oil prices, Abdullah said on Nov. 5.

The early election means that Anwar Ibrahim, a former deputy prime minister who now leads the opposition People's Justice Party, will not be in the race. Anwar can't run for public office until five years after he finished a sentence for a 1999 conviction for corruption, which expires in mid-April.

Racial Tension

Anwar spent six years in jail for corruption and sodomy, charges he denies, after he was fired by then-prime minister Mahathir Mohamad in 1998. The sodomy conviction was overturned in 2004.

Racial and religious issues have marred Abdullah's four years of leading the multi-ethnic nation. In May, a Malaysian woman who renounced Islam lost a bid to get the government to recognize her conversion to Christianity, in a case critics said tested freedom of religion in the nation.

The government's jailing of demonstrators calling for electoral reform and protesting alleged racial discrimination in late 2007 has also threatened support for Abdullah's coalition of Malay, Chinese and Indian-based political parties. UMNO, the party representing ethnic Malays, leads the coalition.

At least four demonstrations have been held since November, with the government arresting five members of the Hindu Rights Action Force under the Internal Security Act, which allows for detention without trial, in December.

``There is tremendous pressure on Abdullah to act decisively,'' said Aeria. ``Within UMNO, there are suggestions that if he does not act sternly, he is a weak leader who is not able to protect the Malay race.''

Concern over careless government spending has also risen. A September report by the Auditor General showed government ministries overspent millions of dollars on equipment ranging from patrol boats to pens.

The same month, Anwar released a video recording purportedly showing a lawyer attempting to fix judiciary appointments. The government formed a royal commission to investigate the video.

To boost growth and popular support, Abdullah has announced public development projects amounting to 200 billion ringgit over the five years to 2010, and unveiled plans to lure billions more to special economic zones throughout the country.

He's also cut corporate tax, freed up money from retirement funds to boost spending, and announced tax exemptions for Chinese, Tamil and religious schools, in what analysts described as efforts to win back waning support.

Malaysia's economic growth may weaken in 2008 to 5.4 percent from an estimated 6.1 percent last year amid a global slowdown caused by the U.S. housing recession, the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research said Jan. 17. The government expects growth to accelerate to as much as 6.5 percent in 2008 from an estimated 6 percent last year.

Former Prime Minister Mahathir, who picked Abdullah as his successor, has said he should step down after one term.

``The people need to make the necessary changes in Barisan Nasional,'' Mahathir said Jan. 30, predicting that the opposition will win additional seats in the next election.

Finally the general election is confirmed to be held in March. Like what the article above mentioned, according to the federal constitution of Malaysia, election will be held within 60 days after the parliament is being dissolved. Looking at the customs in Malaysia, normally the campaigning period will not be more than 20 days. Therefore most of the prediction spot on as general election will fall on the month of March. Who will you be voting for? For me, I guess it's certain that those forgetful people will not win my vote. God bless Malaysia~

Happy Chinese New Year 2008

It’s the sixth day of Chinese New Year!
Such a long time didn’t scratch anything here.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my (limited) blog visitors a very prosperous New Year ahead, may all your wishes comes true in this brand new year.

Approaching New Year
Just like everyone else, I went for a CNY shopping!
I’ve been to almost all the malls in town.
Find that most of the malls are decorated well for the festive season.
The one that I remembered the most will of course be Berjaya Times Squares.
With the big lion opening its mouth at the front door,
it makes me think of a Chinese proverb “狮子开大口”,
which means slaughtering people… hehehe… and with that, it’s my heading picture for the post.
Talking about shopping for CNY, buying new clothes will of course be part of it.
Bought myself a new pant, some shirts, a pair of shoes… well that’s all about it!

CNY eve
This year reunion dinner was a little quiet in the house.
Well, of course it wouldn’t be the same like the year before,
as my elder sister got married last year, my eldest sister who was in China…
The reunion dinner ended up with only my parents and I…
Yeah, it was a little lonely indeed…
After we finish dinner, my secondary school buddies came to the house.
A little bit early for our annual CNY Le Tour De Pai Nin~
but still the tradition continues,
where Pai Nin will not be complete without a little cards playing~
I still remember last year Kam Fai, the so called god of Dee got beaten up by us crazily~
But such scene does not repeat this year.. Hehehe…
People gather around at my house and play cards till five in the morning and yeah,
that’s how we marching towards a brand new year in the Chinese calendar.

CNY Day 1
Woke up early in the morning,
great my parents and get ang pow from them… ^^
I’ve been watching TV after lunch till my sister and brother in law came.
Chit-chit chat-chat a bit then they went home and I had dinner with my parents.
After dinner went to Kam Fai house for Pai Nin + a little gambling…
We bought tickets to watch CJ7 but the muvee will only starts at 2am.
Guess it was the latest show time I’ve watch at Cinema.
Stay at his house up to 12am then we went to Pavillion.
About CJ7~ My personal review for the muvee is…
It’s more towards the type of touching touching film rather than comedy.
Or I should say pure comedy that I expect like the other Stephen Chow series.
Stephen Chow and Kitty Zhang are actually supporting actor/actress in the film…
The whole movie focus on Xu Jiao… all the laughter part came from her…
For those who expect to watch a comedy like me, you might be a little disappointed.
I personally felt that CJ7 is not as funny as Kung Fu or Shaolin Soccer.
The touching touching part is ok to me,
just if Stephen didn’t revived then it will be a lot better.
Comedy + Touching story = ?
Well, judge it on your own.
To me, I am still not that use to Stephen Chow that no longer becomes a comedy star.

CNY Day 2
More or less the same like Day 1,
CNY Day 2 activities are watching muvee, gambling,
sister and brother in law plus nephew visiting…
Kam Fai, Fish and Ching Kheen went to my house to play big2,
Hahaha as a newbie, poor Ching Kheen sacrifice himself~
Like a candle he light up me and Kam Fai by burning himself~
Muahahahahahaha~ Omg, I sound so evil…
Went to Pavillion to watch Kung Fu Dunk at 12am…
The story line is very similar like Shaolin Soccer,
it just that the background, people, time line and places are different.
Well of course, from soccer it turns into basketball…
A 100% pure comedy to me, a perhaps not 100% but a big portion of it…
The muvee also stress on tender feelings but not as much as CJ7 did…
If I would rate the movie with 5 star as the best,
most probably I will rate it at 3 star.
But if you ask me would it worth to watch at cinema?
To be honest, just buy the DVD will do…

CNY Day 3
Today is the day where my eldest sister came back from Shanghai.
At noon, my parents and I went to the Airport.
We practically spend the day time on the journey to and returning from the airport.
When we reach home it was almost 4pm.
Manage to rush to Choy’s house Pai Nin…
Approximately at 8pm I return home to go out to have dinner with my family at Ulu Langat.
The dinner was good and once I finish I get back to Choy’s house.
The 2^nd place we all went to Kam Fai house for Big 2 game…
All the way we play until 4am…
So that wraps up the 3^rd day or CNY!

CNY Day 4
The 4^th Day of CNY, I am suppose to visit Joo at Klang,
But I find that my head almost explode early in the morning…
So I’ve decided to stay at home and take good rest.
But still my beautiful plan was spoiled…
I ended up in Hon Khim’s house drinking wine and eating some Chinese delicacy…
Then we all went to Chee Meng’s house Pai Nin…
The last stop before dinner was at Boon Tat’s house that is just right behind my house.
I went for dinner with my family at Imbi, then rush to Choy’s house.
Watches Man Utd game… where MU got beaten up by Man City…
The terrible part is that Chelsea vs Liverpool game that came later ended up with a boring 0-0 draw…

CNY Day 5
Woke up early in the morning, took bath and prepared myself to go on Genting!!!
Jump on Meng’s City and we went up to the hill straight away~
Reach Genting and had our lunch there…
Pai Nin there to get some “Ang Pow” from Genting... hehehe…
But unfortunately Kam Fai and Meng seems not getting the Ang Pow…
I think Choy and Hon Khim got the biggest Ang Pow if I am not mistaken…
After we came down from the hill, we went to Leisure Mall…
Thought of having dinner at i-Dragon restaurant but find that it’s full house…
So we went to Vietnam Kitchen. We ordered six dishes…
But there are 3 dishes that we have to wait until we all finish up our rice…
Kam Fai was pissed and he started to “have a few words” with the waiter by the end of the day.

So that’s how I spent the first 5 CNY days.
Going to Neway to Sing K later!
My 2008 New Year celebration will come to an end today!
Gonna be BACK TO SCHOLL tomorrow~!! Hurray!!

今天是大年初六，
在“久违”的部落格向极少有到这里的访客拜个年~
祝愿大家新年进步、万事如意、心想事成及财源广进！

新年前夕
新春佳节的来临之际~ 和大伙儿一样~ 阿健也办年货去了！
说到办年货，当然少不了买新衣戴新帽这一环。
走访了市中心大大小小的购物广场~
发现大大小小的购物广场都别具心思的布置了一番！
当然最令我印象深刻的莫过于时代广场的“狮子开大口”！
哈哈哈！为什么是狮子开大口？看看上面我贴的照片就知道了！
买了条牛仔裤~ 搭上几件衣服~ 总算功德圆满了。

年三十
因为二姐嫁人了~ 大姐还在国外的关系。
家里只剩下父母和我令今年的团圆饭显得额外冷清~
吃过了团圆饭~ 一大班中学的老朋友就来到我家了！
嘿嘿~ 今年咱们的环隆市拜年之旅就这样在我家提前拉开序幕了。
当然死党们也不可能就只单纯的来拜年聊聊天而已~
年三十晚大家就开始抓对厮杀了！
还记得去年号称D王的阿辉在我家惨遭滑铁卢~
今年倒没什么“意外惊喜”！嘻嘻！
就这样大伙儿在我家“搏杀”到凌晨5点钟~
年三十晚就这样在咱们“有殺錯冇放過”的欢腾声中跨过去了！

大年初一
早上起床后，和父母拜了个早年。
吃过午饭以后开始在家观赏电视节目~
二姐和二姐夫也回到家里来拜年了。
大家寒暄寒暄了一番~
晚饭后~ 就到阿辉家里坐坐~
买了贺岁片“长江七号”的戏票~
但是戏要在凌晨2点才开始。
就这样在阿辉家呆到12点钟左右，
大伙儿才启程到Pavillion去。
对于长江七号，
我的评述是星爷走温馨路线，打算赚人热泪！
但是对于期望在新春期间开开心心看笑片的我来说~
这部片子似乎不必“少林足球”及“功夫”来得搞笑。
感觉上星爷和张雨绮在这部片子沦为大配角~
徐娇才是片子的灵魂人物。
温情的部分我本人觉得还不错。
如果星爷没有复活的话~ 感动度会更高。
喜剧+温情 = ？大家不妨自己去评估。
但就我个人而言还是不怎么适应没搞笑的星爷。

大年初二
和年初一没什么两样~
还是看看戏~ 二姐、二姐夫及侄儿来家里~
阿辉和阿鱼+正权来锄D~ 正权壮烈牺牲~
晚间12点钟到pavillion去看“功夫灌篮”。
功夫灌篮给我的感觉整体故事和少林足球很接近。
只是人物、时代、地方背景不同了。
当然足球也变成篮球了。一部百分百的戏剧~
当然当中也有强调情意的部分~
不过不如长江般大打温情牌。
如果满分为五颗星的话我给三颗。
不过如果你问我没去戏院看会可惜吗？
我觉得买DVD就可以了。

大年初三
今天是大姐从上海回来的日子，
中午时分~ 爸妈和我到机场接机去了。
基本上白天的时间就花在来回机场之间。
回到家已经是大约4点钟了。
还来得及到阿才的家去拜拜年~
大约8点钟就赶回家一同出发吃晚饭去了。
晚餐还不赖~ 吃得饱饱的~
在山水鱼那儿吃过了晚饭后我就回到阿才的家去了。
下一站就去了阿辉家~ 锄D大战到凌晨4点钟。
大年初三就这样过去了。

大年初四
大年初四~ 原本约好要到巴生去找Joo拜年的。
可是一大早起来头重得不得了~
结果最后还是决定在家养生休息。
可是这个想法很快就被死党们的环隆市拜年之旅破坏了。
最后还是到了汉钦家去。喝喝红酒~ 吃吃饼干~
时间很快就过去了~ 第二站我们去了志明家~
拜拜年~ 然后再动身回到住在我家后排的文达家去。
和家人吃过晚饭后~ 又动身到阿才家去了。
大伙儿一块儿看了曼联惨败给曼市的比赛！
还一起闷闷地观看红军和蓝狮90分钟互交白卷！

大年初五
一大早起床洗刷以后~ 就整装待发准备出发了！
没错，今天大伙儿准备到云顶高原去！
跳上志明的西迪轿车~ 大伙儿就开开心心的出发了！
到了山顶我们吹吹风~ 吃吃饭~
然后和uncle Lim 拜个年~ 拿了小小的“红包”就回来了。
不过阿辉和志明似乎拿不到红包反而要倒贴~
当天红包拿得最大封的应该是阿才和汉钦吧。
下山后去了利双广场~ 本来打算光顾的龙的传人餐厅高朋满座！
结果咱们转而到越南小吃去了~ 点了六样佳肴~
不过菜似乎不是出得很好~ 饭吃完了最后还有三道菜还没出！
最后还搞到阿辉哥替侍应生开年~ paiseh~

就这样新春佳节的首五天过去了！
待会儿我还要到Neway去唱歌！
为我2008年的新春欢庆活动画上句点！
明天就要上学去咯！

The Day After Tomorrow

Looking at the heading of the post, you might be wondering why I am writing such an old movie review. But hey, it’s not a movie review that I am writing here. The story begins with one month ago; I am still busying locating one of my best friends Max Chow. Eventually, found out that he has gone to Taiwan once again. We met up after he return to Malaysia when school starts. As usual, the expected story-telling session took place. This time is no longer about Johor Flood but a more macro issue, Climate Change. It was not long ago, before most of the UTARians are still working on climate change issues especially about the Kyoto Protocol, the Indonesia Bali Climate Change Conference, and et cetera. Of course the reason behind is no other than the academic requirement as we have Business Ethics as one of the subjects. Global warming as a result from green house gasses emission is studied due to our assignment topic requirement. With that, I am grateful that even though I am not on the same page with Max, but at least I could still understand the story that he is telling.

Max claims that the world weather will change drastically in couple of years. His statement is further strengthened with the findings from a study conducted by Wieslaw Maslowski, research associate professor in the Navy school's Department of Oceanography, and fellow researcher Jaclyn Clement Kinney. Forgive me for not mentioning the scientific fact part of the findings as I am not that good in the scientific terminology part. I believe the accent of the study is on regards of the Arctic Ice-free by year 2013, 15 years sooner than the previously "bold" prediction of an ice-free polar ocean by 2030 according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an UN-led body which assesses the state of the Earth's climate system.

To me, the ice-melting arctic will result in the rising of ocean level. More water will flow into the sea as the ice got melted. From the researchers’ point of view as according to the ice-albedo feedback effect, open water receives more solar radiation which in turn leads to additional warming and further melting. The more open up area means there will be more absorption and even more melting. It is going to get worse but that is not all, a preliminary assessment by the US Geological Survey (USGS) suggests the Arctic seabed may hold as much as 25 per cent of the world’s undiscovered oil and natural gas reserves. The US believes that diminishing ice coverage will make extracting resources in the North Pole more feasible. Thus, the exploitation on natural resources will speed up the ice-melting process.

I do not know how true it is that someday we might have Christmas with snow in Malaysia. I am not in the position to judge on whether the prediction is too aggressive or whose is too conservative. However, I do know that it is happening which is why I choose to write this post today. I just hope that with my little effort of posting this, those who read it might put in a little more effort in helping to preserve the environment. About the portion of being vegetarian, I am trying very hard now to make sure I take more vegetables in every meal and sometimes become a one meal vegetarian for my lunch. Hopefully like what Max say, we knew we might not be able to change it, but at least do something to slow it down. Let’s just hope that the day after tomorrow will come later.

26/01/08 A Perfect Day

Posted something on the national issue part, hopefully won’t be bombastic enough to get me into a lunch or dinner in Sg Buloh or Kamunting. Let’s come back to my life. I have been busy with my viva over the week and it’s finally over. I was thrilled with my supervisor phone call because she compliments us for doing very well in the viva. So the hard works do pay off. It was on the past Saturday, 26 JAN 2008. Early in the morning, we reach KA500B and started to set up the equipment in the room for our presentation. Slowly time passes, more and more people came in to the room. We were totally shocked when more than 30 juniors actually show up for our viva session. More than what we could have expected. Imagine people are grabbing chairs from next door to sit in. We started our session with a bit nervous that I would have to admit but who didn’t right? Finish the whole presentation part in around 17 minutes time if I am not mistaken. I can see the second examiner jotting down notes in the middle of the presentation. But when it comes to the Q&A session, she just said that: “I thought it was really good! Err… questions… okay, why do you guys pick this topic? hehe” David and I was smiling to each other and he started to answer the question by stating our interest in performance measurement. I added by saying that our curiosity on the emergence of collaboration between academia and industrial is also one of reasons why we chose to study the topic. Ying Ling and Jessie also express their view on the topic. Our supervisor then say she has no question plus repeatedly saying: “Good! Good!” That’s all about my VIVA which ends around 9.25am in the morning.

Right after the session ends, I manage to capture a few pictures with my group mate David, Jessie and Ying Ling. Guys, you all are simply the best cause I really don’t know what to say but to thank you all. A big thank you for you guys understanding as I am required to attend an Ambassador Appointment ceremony in KL thus our group viva session has to be push forward to become the first session of the day (initially we are the third group presenting at 11am), thank you David as I can’t deny that you did the most reading, writing, analysing (basically mostly everything la…) for our viva and thesis… for the first time in my life I have to salute you for the great work done in our thesis, a big thank you to Ying Ling and Jessie who transform their house into our own research centre/library… ^^ Ok, enough appreciation… Actually it’s not the end yet because we still need to submit our final report on 5 March 2008. So more work coming…

Let’s get back to the viva day, like I mentioned earlier I went to the Collegiate Ambassador for Peace convocation 2008. UTAR nominated the 4 former Student Representatives which are Alex, Lilian, Pei Lee and I to go for this CAP convocation to be appointed as the peace ambassador. Glad to be appointed but I find that I’m no longer that “sociable” nowadays compare to those days. There are various activities plan by the organization. We had gone through several briefings and of course the opening remarks from the Ybhg. Tan Sri… plus the speech from Representative of Datuk Mustafa…

Left the place around 1pm and went to Pavilion with David and Eric. For the first time, 3 of us went shopping together in suit… hmm…. Sound awkward huh? Thanks to David la… -.-“ Had the long queue donuts with them plus some sushi at ichiban-bonshi. Talk about life, about girls, and many many stuff… Also went to sincere watch and then only realize why watches cost 600 thousand ringgit… kinetic power, sunrise and sunset, accuracy of time, military meter design etc. etc. all those technical elements I guess Eric know more than me. Finish meal, went back to Sg Long and bump into Old Town to listen to David Plan once again… and “up up up” till 6pm gone home and took bath and straight away headed to Ai Sien’s house warming… Meet with my secondary sch buddies.. And of course all the “Jee Mui” was there also… More story to come in the next post… hehe sound like a movie preview huh? Or TV commercial break thingy.. hehehe

Saya tak ingat? What wents wrong?

I guess it’s been 20 days plus since I last updated my blog. A lot of things happen in these 20 days. Among the bombastic one, it will definitely be the beginning of the “trial” by the royal commission on VK Lingam case. Several big shot were summoned to testify on the court. I guess one of the famous phrases that evolve from the case will be: “It looks like me, it sounds like me… but I don’t know whether it is me?” by VK Lingam and not forgetting our most honourable former prime minister Tun’s statement: “Saya tak ingat.”

Rally IS NOT OUR CULTURE according to our beloved PM. But has he long forgotten that once upon a time, how Malayan goes against the British colonist proposed Malayan Union? I wonder if there is no “walk on justice” by the lawyers, will the government even set up the royal commission. The statement "Lawyers don't walk everyday. Not even every month. But when they walk, then something must be very wrong," made by the Bar Council chairman Ambiga Sreenevasan during the Walk of Justice shall be seriously thought by every Malaysian. What went wrong with our country?

Just out of my own curiosity, what can the royal commission do if they do find out that in the process of appointing the chief judge, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansur, VK Lingam and etc. etc. do interfere by sending in suggestions, memorandum, and so on? I understand that it’s very serious if the appointment of chief of justice is bias but isn’t at the very beginning the system itself is already bias? The separation of power between executive, judiciary and legislative has long gone in Malaysia. It has been Malaysian custom for a single site having the absolute advantage in the parliament house. Thus, with such majority win, the ruler of the country is no longer the symbolic royal family but the leader of the winning alliances. The constitution can be amended easily, his royal highness can’t help but to agree with all sort of propose enactment by the parliament. So who is the real monarch in the country? And people, please don’t complain when petrol price goes up, when toll price rise, when you and I have to suffer from the high inflation rate with your salary still stay at the same. This is because you’ve voted and this is what you wanted? Or Malaysian simply tak ingat what went wrong with our country?

Cancellation of City Tour JAN 2008

I'm regret to inform those who plan or who have registered to join City Tour JAN 2008 that our tour is being called off. There are various issues in this case. But the official reasons for canceling the tour is because we don't have enough juniors to participate in it. Up to date, the organizer receive overwhelming response from the seniors (more than 75 registered with us) and we thank you for your support. There were once hope for the tour to be carry on with conditions but the organizer felt that to be fair with everyone else, it's best that we call off the tour. Never thought that the last activity I joined in UTAR (I suppose it is the last one cause I hope that Talent Time committee will get a replacement emcee to take over my position) will ended up like this. For those of you who are still interested in going to the various destinations of the tour, let's organize one for our own!~ Don't worry, we will still have the opportunity to shake hands with the sharks in Aquaria KLCC, marching through the Sky bridge, say hello to the fire flies in Kuala Selangor, reach the top of Melawati Hill and enjoy the yummy seafood! Hurray!!!

It’s amazing how one person life can goes…
At one moment you are on top of the hill near heaven and at another you might fall into hell…
Yeah, who else would it be for me to refer to other than the recent hot porn star…
Someone with the title of Dato’ Seri, spend more than 20 years to climb the ladder of politics to reach his current position…
People will not count on how much you have done previously but yes one mistake you will fall into the drain… This is just how the rule goes…
I have to clarify that I am not a big fan of this Dato’ Seri but yet the courage to admit his blunder do impress me… I meant how many politicians in Malaysia nowadays have the guts to do so…
Not to mention such huge sexual scandal but any of their wrong doing… I will say almost all of our “Honourable” ministers will prefer to blame the whole world but themselves…
So credit do goes to this Dato’ Seri for his courage yeah… like what people always say if you are to fail please fail with dignity…
So that is the most bombastic news happened in Malaysia politics at the beginning of year 2008.

Talking about New Year… hmm…
It’s quite pathetic how I spend both my Christmas Eve and New Year Eve night…
Unbelievable for the first time in my life ever since I was 15, I actually stay at home at both Christmas Eve and New Year Eve… Facing my monitor, doing my thesis…
That’s how I spend the last day of year 2007… Just hope that the same thing won’t repeat next year… well I bet it won’t cause by then there shouldn’t be any thesis huh? Hmm…
New Year new hope, some says that the economic will once again having recession in year 2008.
Some says petrol price is going to shot up for more than 30 cents…
Some says the general election is on March…
Some says China is coming down right after the Olympic Games…
Well, it just too many “says”…
Year 2008 is going to be a big year for me as I am about to enter into a new chapter of my life…
Yeah, if everything goes well, I am going to graduate in August 2008 (the convocation)…
What’s going to be will be… what comes around goes around... so just chill out dudes...

Christmas Eve

It's 24th of December 2007, Christmas Eve.
Spent my afternoon with both of my sisters Brenda and Chiah Li.
My parents went to Pangkor Island for one of our relatives wedding but we didn't follow.
This is the first time I go shopping with my eldest sister in KL ever since she went to GZ.
My little nephew was with us too ^^
Suppose to buy some baby stuff for my little nephew and my jiejie say she want to buy pants, shirt for us.. yea me and my elder sister... ^^
Abuthen after we reach Pavilion around 1.30pm, we went to walk walk for awhile,
My little nephew start to complain ldy~ It's his milk milk time apparently.
We went to a Japanese Restaurant call Ichiban Boshi if I am not mistaken (NOT YO! Shushi! for sure).
Surprisingly the food there are quite cheap ler...
Most of all the sushis are at RM4 per plate (can say almost all except Sashimi is at RM6)
took a few plate~ then I ordered a sizzling grill beef~ hmm... Yummy...
The food there are nice. But I guess my elder sister don't have much time to enjoy it.
Hehe... why is that so? Because she has to feed my little nephew!
He will turn 2 month old in less than a week time! Cute little baby... ^^
Ryan keep on sms me from morning till noon asking me to go Sky Bar tonight.
But consider his previous record in Thai Club, I am still wondering shall I join him?
and also one of the most important fact is that I am near to broke nowadays~
My pay only come in on Friday... sobz sobz...
So tonight... where will I be?? Home alone again singing the song: "Lonely~ I am still lonely~"
No! That's too pathetic!! I need to figure out something...

It's been quite some time I didn't update my blog.
Well, it's most probably because of I am now working again I guess.
Anyway, that shouldn't be an excuse for me huh?
Just posted that I wanted to become a regular blogger not long ago...
So here I am blogging again! Actually I did wrote something on power separation previously.
But after I finish it, I find that it's still better for me to keep it for myself.
I don't want to change the way of how this blog work.

It's now 00:38AM, 24/12/2007. Couple of days before saying tata to 2007!
N yeah... it's Christmas eve... went working in Leisure Mall for the past 2 days.
Being the mall DJ there. As usual, I talk talk talk there... then put on some songs.
The first day in Leisure Mall, there are some program there.
Magic Show, Christmas Caroling, Santa Appearance...
2nd Day is slightly better, Karen Kong went to Leisure Mall.
This is the first time I watch her performing LIVE.
To be honest I am not really a fan of her.
But I have to admit that she has a powerful voice and her songs are quite good.
The song that I love the most in her album is “爱情” which means Love in English.
Just one day before that, she was performing on the ntv7 concert at Bukit Jalil.
Didn't think she sang well on that day, but today yes!
Other than Karen Kong, the Royal London Circus was here too.
They went on stage and give a sneak preview.
Well of course you can't expect too much from them consider the space at Leisure Mall,
how can all their elephants and lions came in.
I've got a free VIP ticket from them ^^
The lady say it's an appreciation gift for me cause I so "hard sell" on their circus.
(Actually to be honest, I got not much things to talk also so whatever info I grab I sure talk non-stop liao... hehe)
Anyway, the ticket is on entitle for one entry. So I guess if I want to go there I still need to persuade someone to buy ticket huh? hmm... good marketing strategy!
So that wrap up what happen to my Mr Dee Jay days...
Till then... hmm... suddenly sound like ending of drama... till then... hohohoho...
Okie.. want to sleep already. No picture this round.. probably will take some when I work on 25th later... The Christmas DECO in Leisure Mall is quite nice... ^^

Undeniable that humans are causing global warming. We all have something to do with the emission of green house gases. This bulletin post by someone on friendster remind me of something. In UTAR, this semester alone there are approximately thousand of students study the subject of Business Ethics. Global warming or climate change is our topic for the assignment. We may have acquired some information about global warming but how many of us actually do something about it? I wonder if there is any of us do decrease the air-condition temperature by 2 Co. Action talk louder than words. This post in friendster remind me of that I should be doing something also. So you folks out there let's start with ourselves, and sooner or later hopefully people around us will also do the same. Save the nature. (save the poor polar beers）

EPL or Asian Idol?

Phew... It's a peaceful afternoon here Sunday, 16 December 2007 after my nephew went to sleep. Look at the little face of him. This new little life has enlighten our family once again. Why is that so? Well, guess it's been quite quiet since my elder sister got marry. But now the house is filled with the voices of this little baby. He is small yet he is loud. Haha...
This weekend seems to have lotsa cool TV program showing...
The match between Man Utd and Liverpool is happening tonight 9.30pm.
No doubt that it's gonna be an exciting match to watch.
But on the other hand, 8TV is showing a 2 hours gala performance result show of Asian Idol. I have watches their performance yesterday night. Still my votes goes to Jac!
It's been quite some time.. 2 yrs perhaps since I last watch her perform LIVE!
6 nation idol gather at Jakarta to compete for the inaugural Asian Idol title.
The show is hosted by Amelia Natasha and Daniel Mananta, both from Indonesian Idol, and Malaysian Idol's Soo Kui Jien.
What show should I watch?? EPL or Asian Idol...? hmmm...

Yeah~ Finally finish BE exam.
Happy with how much I wrote for Section A.
But unsure and mourn for my answers in Section B.
Anyway, glad that the paper is finally over.
Moral in the coming Wednesday!!
Yeah The last paper in Short semester!
Right after the BE exam I went to watch muvee with my classmate Jc and YL.
Warlords is the muvee that v went for.
Directed by Peter Chan, a Bangkok born Chinese director.
The director inject more spiritual and inspirational element in the movie.
Lazy to write abt the plot / synopsis of the muvee.
But here I post the trailer up! Take a look at it!

mySis Convo

Last Saturday, 8 December 2007 went to my sister convocation.
It's happening at Nikko Hotel KL, right beside Citibank.
Oh yea~ that's one of the familiar places to me...
after attending don't know how many session of UTAR convocation.
Early in the morning, went to Petaling Street and look for bee yoo tee foo flowers.
Yes I bought the flowers for my sister ^^
A bouquet of white roses with purple color wrapping papers ^^
Buying the flowers suddenly remind me of this year Chinese New Year.
This is because couple of months ago I went to the same shop for some flowers shopping.
Scene of memories sliding through my mind…
Still remember calling Ed Khing and keep on asking for the budget;
the long phone conversation with Brian before our meeting…
We argued and we fought over various issues.
Stressful yet meaningful moment we have had together…
I wonder if there will be another CNY celebration this year but I bet there won’t be any.
Hmm… somehow I drag too far away…
Okay, let’s come back to the convocation hehe…
There are 300+ students graduating.
They are all from Segi College in Petaling Jaya campus, KL campus and also Penang campus.
The Vice-Chancellor of University of Abertay Dundee attended the session.
The convocation begins with the academic procession.
Surprisingly Tun Ling was present at the Convocation as well.
He is receiving an Honorary Degree of Dr. of Education for his contribution in setting up UTAR.
The ceremony begins at 2pm and adjourned around 3.30pm.
Parents and students then went for Hi-Tea and photo taking session.
Compare to UTAR, Segi’s or Abertay Dundee’s convocation is more “casual”.
Not much of ceremonial procedure involves.
For some of the UTAR students who have been complaining about our convocation,
well honestly I do think our session is more prestigious.
There might be some who prefer the “casual” way of graduating but to me I still love that classical style.
There will be one more convocation session for me to attend before it comes to my own one.

Looking forward to attend my eldest sister’s convocation next year though she said she don’t want to go for it but I don’t think my parents are going to agree with that. Hehe

My 22nd B'day Pt II

The 3rd session of my birthday celebration.
Fridays at The Curves Mutiara D'sara.
Got a call from PoH PoH few days before my b'day.
TQ for bringing me to Fridays~
Not forgetting Yan Qing who plans the whole thing.
The dinner starts with a round of mumbling from Hon Khim because of the traffic.
Yea~ it’s on the eve day of Hindraf (I wonder if I have spelled it correctly) rally.
Our police officers are setting up road block at almost every access road to the city center.
We stuck at federal highway for one hour plus I guessed.
After the long traffic jam we reaches the place and wait for a while before we are seated.
We all chit-chat hAppiLy as usual while were taking our dinner there at supper time. =p
After that, the “surprise” came.
For non-Fridays regular customer like me, it’s totally unexpected when I was asked to stand on the chair with all the staff there singing songs and dragging other people attention.
Thank goodness our table is located a little isolated from the crowd.
Otherwise, I can’t imagine standing on the chair in the middle of “The Walk” at Friday night…
Anyway, I would still like to thank you all for celebrating my birthday with me. ^^
Especially to buddies like Kam Fai, Chee Meng, Hon Khim (for the transportation despite you mumble a lot sometimes hahahaha), and Ching Kheen (who went disappear for months).
I will never forget the moment you all take out camera, phones… to capture my chair standing press conference session. >.<
Erm… one more thing, I would also like to make a disclaimer here.
For the invitation list of that day, it’s purely done by the organizer.
For those who didn’t manage to join us~ still I thank you for all your happy belated birthday wishes. ^^ Please forgive me if I have forgotten to inform any of you to come to any of the 3 occasions. Phew... Guess it's a little too late to post this huh?

It's one of the most memorable birthday I had~

So I dun really mind abt the temperature actually...

Rainy Days...

It's study week but somehow there isn't much study mood around.
Too many temptation at home I guess?
huh? Plus a little workload perhaps...
My little nephew show up this few days.
Suddenly realize that taking care of a baby really consume lotsa energy..
But no matter how tired you are..
When the baby smile~ All your tiredness will disappear~
So little nephew~

It's been few days probably a week I dnt go anywhere...
Got a call from Maybank the other day.
I've got free tickets to watch the premier of Warlords in Pavillion KL.
But I totally forgot about it until I saw the news on TV... =(
so.. no more Jet Li... no more Andy Lau.. no more Taekeshi~ >.<

Recently, everyone been looking for jobs...
Somehow everyone is graduating and of course upon graduation..
Most of them are looking for job...
I suddenly realize that my university life is also counting down...
another 1 semester to go...
probably I should be looking for job too huh?
But what kind of job I should look for??
Continue in Accounting...?? or... I should go for something else??
Marketing? Management?? Trainers?? Event organizing??
So many field?? Amusing... I would rather say... it's confusing...

Move on

Life is like a dream.
Sound nice huh? But bear in mind that dreams are not always good.
That’s why sometimes life is like a nightmare.
We do experience sweet dream sometimes and it happen more often when we’re young.
As we grow up, we tend to get more and more nightmare.
Eventually we learn how to cope up with it and move on.
Well, believe it or not, growing up means being heartless.
Why do I say so? The answer is very simple.
As we grow, most of the times we tend to accept ‘fact’ that we thought we could not; we tend to let go what we thought we could not; and we tend not to care for what we did care for.
Be strong, everything is gonna be fine. What a familiar phrase that we often heard.
To me, the truth is nothing is gonna be fine and the phrase sound more like be crucial, take it or leave it there is nothing you can do about it.
Nevertheless, don’t fall, don’t give up before you fight for it, before you did everything or anything that you think it is possible.
But when all hopes are gone, you have to ‘move on’.
So people, I am moving on.

There might be tans of errors up there and yeah this is how bad my language is. Read the blog heading. For those who don’t understand it, please if you are curious enough to find out just get someone to translate it for you.

Convocation

UTAR Convocation August 2007.
I've attended 3 out of 4 UTAR convocation.
Not because of I am a big fan of the ceremony but I am once again summoned to bear the mace.
This session is a little bit different compare to the previous sessions I've attended.
I have a lot of friends graduating in this four sessions.
Suddenly start to imagine the moment of my own graduation.
Watching Ed Khing, Yee Ling, Siew Lee, Angel, Nancy, Kai Xin, Esther, Lydia, Ravi, Pak Kin, Mei San, Fish etc etc graduating makes me feel like time really flies.
Next round gonna be Ms Liew and Joo's turn!
To all my friends that graduated, my heartiest congratulations and apology cause no flowers and dolls from me~ hehehe!
So to be fair with the rest, Ah Leng and JOO I am not gonna buy any for both of you too!
Hohohohohohoho! Okiez.. Let's have a little flash back of what happened in the past two days.

SAT 25 Aug 2007,

Early in the morning rush to UNI for my RMP test. A final "mid-term" test that I have.

Finish the test earlier~ Rush to WISMA MCA!
It's a rainy day, the roads are slippery~ Dun worry there isn't any drifting action i made.
Reach the place around 11:15am, the first session has already ended. Saw many graduates cheering and taking pictures down there. As usual the concourse area is packed!
Found Mei Yin there and taken pic with her, tried to look for Jason to take picture but sad~ he has gone home! sobz sobz..
Look for MR Ping Nian after that who attended the session “on behalf of me"(someone gf graduating with first class Hons degree huh~)!
Got my invitation card from him and then I proceed to the hall.
Guess what, the first person i saw is ALEX, not the ordinary Alex but ALEX the bald!
He really shaved all his hair!! Chit-chat with all the people there. Saw a lot of familiar faces.
Jonathan is scheduled to bear the mace on the 2nd session. He is damn nervous till can't take lunch. Hoho! Well, remind me of the fist time Alex and I went to take the mace, but I thought our appetite was quite good at that time! hahaha!
Chee Wei was there as well, he attended the first session. He then tried to bear the mace and walk through the hall~ and yeap! He manage to walk through the "runway"! hehe
Taken lunch with everyone there. The catering this year is.......... speechless! Probably that's why Jonathan didn't take lunch huh?
Michelle then arrive to join us while Chee Wei and Alex left.

Finish the hot spicy ginger lunch, we went in to the hall and wait for the ceremony to commence.
Ms Sum then show up! Sitting besie Michelle, we had a long talk on the recent hot topic! What kind of hot topic? hohoho~ It's classified information not for open discussion. After the graduates took their scroll, we went in for a little refreshment. Gone out to take pic with Angel, Nancy, Ed Khing, Yee Ling, Joe Yee, How Wey etc etc.. and Guan Tong in shorts and sliper ><"! That's wrap up the first Day!

Sun 26 AUG 2007
Woke up early in the morning around 6:00am. Brush brush my tooth, took bath, comb comb my hair~ then head towards Wisma MCA! Arrive there around 7.15am. UTAR bus is already there. Went down to chit-chat with Ms Yee, Mr Lim they all. Took breakfast with all my DEA buddies~
Kak Suraiya starts to tell story about drama happens in her family. Can't really remember what it is but I could barely recall that it is something about her cousin's Kuching ex-bf fly all the way from kuching to KL, vs the current bf here in peninsular. Well, it's an interesting story to listen to. ^^ Our breakfast today is again disappointing~ Bee Hon with ikan bilis that looks like sambal but has no sambal taste! Someone took the pic and said want to complain~ dun remember who exactly! but pls do so!! Coz the meal is really SUX ler~~
After the breakfast went to take picture with Ah Fish! My secondary school friend who graduate in first class hons degree!! Congrats congrats him a bit! Smile Smile and "chak"!!
After blow blow water with him, I went back to the hall waiting room and started to change. Yeah~ forgot to mentioned~ It's my turn to bear the mace this round! Got myself the X'mas tree rob~ wore it with gloves and wait for the moment to come. Bearing the mace this round is fun to me! Didn't really feel the weight of it anymore. Smiling all way through till I reach the podium and place it in front of the G.O.H. or I should rephrase cause our G.O.H. Datuk Sri' Chan FFK last minute! It should be placing the mace in front of Tun and Tan Sri then.. hehe.

After all the Tan Mei Mei, Lim Pei Pei, Chin Lee Lee took their scroll for approximately 1 and a half hour the thrid session ends. As usual, went out and "chak chak" some more pictures! Met with Kai Xin who was being interviewed! Glad to hear that she has been head-hunted to a few place! haha! Well, i went in to the hall again for the 2nd session together with Simon and Ms Sum. Nothing special happens after that. So guess that's it for Day 2! After so long dnt write blog in English, really makes my hands feel stiff That's it! I am not writing anymore!! TATA!

转眼间，一年过去了。
在学生代表理事会的生涯终于进入了倒数阶段。
在这一年里我的人生起了很大的变化。
在各方面面对的人、事与物都为我带来更丰富的体验。
从当初战战兢兢的推算一切到摊开胸怀尝试接纳意见与异见。
我必须感谢所有和我一起走过这段路的朋友们。
感谢你们对我的相信、谅解、包容及关怀。
大学的生涯因为有你们而变得更丰盛。
不打算长篇大论的一一细数过去了。
一年的经历让我学会了凡是都应该往前看。
不要过度缅怀过去。老土的说句，过去就让它过去吧。
让这一年来的点点滴滴永远地埋在我心窝。
